Scouting
Scouting: A youth organization worldwide. Its aim is to provide physical and emotional development of the youth so that they can contribute significantly to the formation of society. The scout movement started Lord Baden Powell in 1907. He was a retired Lt. Gen. of the British Army. Currently, 100 million scouts and guides of the world are represented by various scouting societies. Jagannathpur Upazila and Scouting Committees have been formed and activities are ongoing as in other places. The Bangladesh Scouts, the 155 cab teams registered in Jagannathpur upazila, the scout team 46 (secondary school 29 and madrasa 17). According to the rules of Bangladesh scouts, Mr. Mohammad Masum Billah President, Mr. Mohammad Masum Billah, Chairman, Mr. Mohammad Moinul Islam Parvez, Commissioner and Mr. Mohammad Emran Ali, as Secretary, the current Upazila Scouts Committee, all members of the upazila scout activities are being performed with dedication. As a result, on 14/02/2013, Divisional Commissioner, Sylhet Division, Sylhet officially announced Jagannathpur as "Scout Upazilla" since presenting as the Chief Guest.
